Making Christmas Trees from our neighbourhood scavenger hunt.

Making Christmas Trees from our neighbourhood scavenger hunt.

We often go for walks around our neighbourhood, take the dog for a walk, get the curious critters out of the house, get some fresh air and exercise. Sometimes if I’m organised we even do a Scavenger Hunt. I will give them a list of things to check off as they see them or collect them during our walk.

Today we were heading to a nearby playground and as usual the curious critters were collecting things along the way, flowers, sticks, leaves with different colours on them etc. By the time we had made it to the playground they had quite a collection. I wasn’t so sure that I wanted to cart all the treasures home again so I thought let’s make something with them here in the playground.

As we had Christmas on our mind we thought we could make some interesting Australian Christmas Trees out of what we had collected and anything else we could find around us.

These are a collection of photos of the lovely Australian Christmas Trees that we created.

Of course I still had to bring some home with us so that we could paste some of them to paper as well and put them up on display. What started out as a quick activity ended up being a lovely afternoon of creating.

Next time you are in the playground with your curious critters to take a photo of something you have created out of the wonderful nature we have around us. Feel free to post it to our Facebook page, we would love to see what you come up with.
